Monday

Police received a 12:50 p.m. report that a woman had lost her gold necklace while she was walking her dog, possibly in the area of Front or Washington streets.

Tuesday

An officer was unable to locate a vehicle that was reported to be “driving around in the area really fast” near Humphrey and West streets at 1:44 a.m.

Peabody

Monday

Police dispersed a large group of youths from nearby Maddy’s Car Wash on Andover Street, according to a 12:44 a.m. log item.

A King Street man reported at 2:57 a.m. that somebody was “pounding” on his door. Police wrote later: “Officer checked the area and did not locate anyone.”

Police received a 5:11 a.m. report that a trash truck was “waking the neighbors” on Lynn Street. An officer was unable to locate it.

A caller at 36 Wilson Terrace reported at 7:27 a.m. that the “entire parking lot is covered with hypodermic needles,” according to the log. An officer located four or five needles and disposed of them.

A Salem woman will be summonsed to court on a charge of uttering counterfeit bills after an 11:20 a.m. report that she passed fake cash at North Shore Bank on Andover Street.

Police responded to a 2:06 p.m. report that a woman on Swampscott Avenue had been confronted by an “angry man” as she was hanging a sign for a “found cat.” Police subsequently arrested a 54-year-old Peabody man on a warrant.

A 51-year-old man called the police station’s business line “claiming to be an investigator with the U.S. Department of Labor,” according to a 4:29 p.m. log item.

An Abington Avenue woman reported at 7:35 p.m. that her son had stolen her vehicle.

Somebody smashed the window of a vehicle parked outside Barnes and Noble on Andover Street and stole a $2,000 laptop, according to a 9:14 p.m. report.
