MARBLEHEAD — A bicyclist received non-life-threatening injuries Thursday after being hit by a car near Pleasant Street and Mohawk Road — the intersection where Alessandra "Allie" Castner was struck and killed by a car in August 2009.
The driver of the vehicle in Thursday's incident, Daniel Lynch of 29 Commercial St. in Marblehead, was issued a citation for a crosswalk violation.
Police said the incident occurred at 5:27 p.m.
"The victim of the accident was transported to Salem Hospital by Atlantic Ambulance," police said.
Police said the victim has since been treated and released from the hospital. More information on the accident was not immediately made available. Police said the victim was over the age of 18.
Police were able to respond quickly to the accident. The call came in at 5:27 p.m., and police were on scene two minutes later, according to the police log. The last officer left the scene about two hours after the initial call.
