Wednesday

Police re-secured a home on McKinley Road that had its front door "wide open" at 10:28 a.m. when no one was home.

Maxwell B. Martinez, 19, of 1 Abbot Court in Marblehead, was charged with being a person under 21 in possession of liquor at 6:06 p.m. on Ocean Avenue.

A Garfield Street resident said that someone claiming to be from Lysco Chimney tried to scam her during a phone call. The incident was reported at 8:33 p.m.

Beverly

Wednesday

Police arrived at Winthrop Street on reports of a drunken woman trying to get into a Mustang. Police gave the woman a ride to the station, where she was going to be picked up by a friend. But on the way she became "a bit combative" so she was placed in handcuffs, however, she was not formally arrested.

Police were called because someone was reportedly "yelling in church" at 6:59 p.m. on Cabot Street.

The well-being check on a Rantoul Street man may have kept him alive, according to police. When emergency officials arrived at the man's home, they found him lying on the floor of his bedroom. He was taken to the hospital at 7:34 p.m.

Danvers

Wednesday

Marijuana was reported at the Cedar Glen Nursing Home on Summer Street at 6:49 p.m., and a report was written by police.

Police dispersed a loud group at McDonald's on High Street at 8:43 p.m.

Thursday

Mottis Brown, 26, of 299 Centre St. in Dorcester, was arrested and charged with driving an unregistered motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Peabody

Wednesday

A Ledgewood Way resident said that someone who called claiming to be her "grandson" wanted her to use Western Union to send him money. This was determined to be a fraudulent claim. The resident did not lose money from the phone call.

The owner of a red Station Wagon that had been parked in a restricted area on Washington Street received three tickets and was towed from the scene at 4:26 p.m.

Thursday

The witness to a somewhat bizarre car accident told police that a minivan with two young children rolled across a parking lot on Aborn Street and into another motor vehicle at 12:33 p.m. The caller said the mother then collected the children and "went back into the house." Police questioned the mother and accepted her take on what happened.

Salem

Wednesday

A phone charger, which the owner said was hanging from his door knob, was reported stolen from its Washington Street home at 8:38 p.m.

Thursday

Amber L. Feyler, 20, Leach St. in Salem, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and two additional counts of assault and battery. The incident occurred at 12:22 a.m. at the above address. A relative of Feyler called the police reporting that Amber had punched her and another victim. During the beginning of Feyler's conversation with police, they said Feyler was cooperative but that her mood changed to anger when they moved to arrest her. Police said she slammed her bedroom door on an officer, shouted at them and kicked one officer in the groin with her heel. She was eventually cuffed and taken to the station.

Officers responded to a report of a dead animal in the middle of the Leslie Retreat Walkway canal. Officers did see an animal floating in the water, which they believed to be a small coyote at 1:28 a.m.

Patrick M. Swift, 21, of 5 Belleview Ave. in Salem, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle with defective equipment at 4:20 a.m. near Derby and Congress streets.

Darren A. McIntosh, 42, of 36 Sewall st. in Lynn, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, illegal possession of a Class E substance, illegal possession of a Class C substance, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle to endanger at 8:02 a.m. on Highland Avenue. The occupant of a vehicle that rolled onto its driver's side after rear-ending a car on Highland Avenue was sitting on the curb and appeared disoriented when police arrived. Police found prescription medication in McIntosh's vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. McIntosh's vehicle, which rolled onto its side, suffered substantial damage.

Siervo R. Jimenez, 23, of 12 Boynton st. in Lynn, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and impeded operation at 9:11 a.m. near Highland Avenue and Heritage Drive.

Michael S. Kane, 29, of 44 Cassa Loop in Holtsville, N.Y., was charged with speeding and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Kane was arrested at 1:50 p.m. Kane was driving a van with a logo that read Lysco Chimney Co. at 52 mph in a 35-mph zone on Bridge Street, according to the report.
