---- — WENHAM — The motorcyclist who died after colliding with a lumber truck on Route 1A Thursday has been identified as Steven M. Daly, 61, of North Andover.

The accident occurred near Wenham Lake shortly after 2 p.m., when Daly’s motorcycle collided with an oncoming lumber truck. The truck was driving north on Route 1A, while the motorcycle was heading south.

Daly was pronounced dead Thursday after being taken to Beverly Hospital, according to Wenham police.

The driver of the lumber truck, a 60-year-old man from Gloucester, had minor injuries from the crash and was transported to a hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by the Wenham police and Massachusetts State Police. No criminal charges had been issued as of yesterday afternoon, said Carrie Kimball Monahan, spokeswoman for the Essex District Attorney’s office.

Monahan declined to release the identity of the truck driver yesterday, as well as further details, such as whether speed or alcohol was a factor.

“The crash remains under investigation so I cannot make any specific statements about what may or may not have been a factor,” she said.
