Julia A. Duerden, 47, of Saugus was arrested at 5:16 p.m. on a charge of shoplifting by concealing from JC Penney at Northshore Mall. The store reported that approximately $400 in merchandise was stolen and a woman with blond hair wearing a pink scarf left the area in a Chrysler Town and Country van with a passenger. Duerden also had a default warrant from Salem District Court for larceny over $250.

Eric M. Frechette, 39, of 5 Waldingfield Lane, Peabody, was arrested at 5:32 p.m. on charges of violating an abuse prevention order, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer.

Friday

Two men were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in which police found over an ounce of cocaine and a “quantity of heroin” on Lafayette Street at 6:08 p.m. Ricardo M. Seda, 34, 12 Prince St., Salem, and Kelvin D. Gonzalez, 32, of Hyde Park were arrested on charges of trafficking cocaine, and possession of class A and B substances with intent to distribute. Gonzalez was also arrested on a charge of operating a unregistered motor vehicle, according to police.

Arnold Joseph, 30, 247 Jefferson Ave., Salem, was arrested on a charge of violating a protective order at his address at 7:39 p.m. Salem police were assisting Lynn police in the arrest.

Saturday

George W. Groccia, 44, 3 West Terrace, Salem, was arrested by Salem State University police of a warrant out of Boxford for a suspended license on West street at 12:03 p.m.

Diomar A. Fuentes, 29, 16 Dow St., Salem, was arrested on a warrant for possession of class B substance, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct at 1:29 p.m. on Harbor Street.

Michael J. McCausland, 34, 56 Margin St., Salem, was arrested on two default warrants for larceny from a boat, trespassing, attempt to commit a crime and receiving stolen property over $250, according to a 3:10 p.m. police log item.
