Marblehead's Shalane Flanagan finishes fourth in Boston Marathon

Shalane Flanagan of Marblehead has finished fourth in the women's race in the Boston Marathon.

Flanagan finished in an unofficial time of 2 hours, 27 minutes, 8 seconds, according to the Boston Athletic Association's website

Rita Jeptoo of Kenya won the women's race, finishing in an unofficial time of 2:26:25. Jeptoo also won in 2006. She took two years off after having a baby.

Cool temperatures greeted the field of 24,662 in Hopkinton this morning for the 117th edition of the 26.2-mile run.
