65 summonsed after underage drinking party

HAMILTON — Dozens of youths will fill local courtrooms after police busted a party on Saturday night.

Sixty-five people were found at an "underage drinking party" at Canter Brook Equestrian Center at 354 Highland St., police said. Officers issued summonses to everyone in attendance for being minors in possession of alcohol.

Hamilton police located the party around 9:56 p.m. after conducting a motor vehicle stop.

With the assistance of the Wenham, Topsfield and Ipswich police departments, all of those at the party were released either to a parent or adult.

Police said the incident is still "under investigation, and further charges are pending."

Those issued summonses will be asked to appear in Ipswich District Court, Hamilton police said.
