Police received a 1:35 p.m. report from a Widger Road man who reported a solicitor had been trying to sell cookies at a restaurant to support “youth education,” but that when he called the numbers provided by the solicitor “all were disconnected.”

Friday

A 12:22 a.m. report of shoplifting at a store on Pleasant Street resulted in the arrest of Pedro Miguel Pacheco, 27, of 24 Central St., Marblehead, on a charge of shoplifting.

Peabody

Thursday

Police received a 2:06 p.m. report that somebody had thrown a restaurant bag out of a motor vehicle near 61 Pine St. “The officer stated that there was a receipt in the bag with a telephone number,” wrote police. “He will attempt to contact the person.”

A Hamerick Road man reported a raccoon with babies was under his deck at 2:50 p.m.

A female caller reported a dispute with her boyfriend in the parking lot at Chandlers Ice Cream at 68 Andover St., according to a 2:59 p.m. report. Garrett Dooley, 22, of 504 Walpole St., Norwood, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and malicious destruction of property over $250.

A John Road man reported at 5:30 p.m. that his neighbor on Tara Road had pointed a BB gun at his home, but police later called the report unfounded.

A man was transported to Salem Hospital after a 7:08 p.m. report that an intoxicated man was leaning against a building at 53 Lowell St.

Police received a 4:45 p.m. report that skateboarders were riding down the middle of Pleasant Street.

A Bay View Drive man reported at 8:28 p.m. that his wife had heard a loud bang and found a screen had been removed from a window of their residence — and then she saw “two kids walking quickly down the street.”

Salem

Thursday

Officers observed suspicious activity in the area of the Wendy’s at 91 Lafayette St. and arrested Stephen Jenkins, 22, of 5 Pond St., Salem, on a charge of violating the city’s knife ordinance, according to a 5:17 p.m. log item. A 21-year-old homeless man was arrested at the same time on a warrant.

Police received an 11:36 p.m. report that a man in a white van had driven by two women sitting in a car near the tennis courts at Willows Park, then turned around, returned, opened his window and said, “Hi ladies, what are you doing tonight?” The man was described as being in his 30s with “dark eyes” and brown hair parted to the right. The van had one headlight out.

At 2:22 a.m., an officer at 24 Harrison Road arrested Christopher Hale, 31, of 41 Federal St., Salem, on a charge of trespassing.

A $50 fire extinguisher was stolen from the porch of an apartment on Mooney Road, according to a 9:17 a.m. report.

Police found a man in a restricted area near the entrance of the train tunnel at the depot at 242 Bridge St. and arrested Salvatore Aiello, 29, homeless, on a charge of trespassing, according to an 11:57 a.m. log item.

A Burnside Street woman reported at 3:30 p.m. that she was having problems with a person “walking by her window and shouting obscenities.”

Danvers

Police received a 7:14 p.m. report that someone had stolen beer from a business at 128 Water St.

Friday

Police conducted a traffic stop at Route 128 and High Street at 2:34 a.m. and arrested Andrew Ouellette, 19, of 17 Charles St., Danvers, on a charge of possession of alcohol by a person under 21.

A traffic stop at 152 Endicott St. at 6:28 a.m. resulted in the arrest of Arthur Williams, 35, of 5201 Chestnut West, Apt. 1205, Randolph, on a charge operating without an ignition interlock.

A car at the Walmart at 55 Brooksby Village Drive had been keyed, according to a 9:50 a.m. report.

Emergency personnel responded to the AMC theater at the Liberty Tree Mall after a report at about 8:15 p.m. that a 14-year-old girl had sustained head injuries during an assault. She was transported to Beverly Hospital. No further information was immediately available.

Police received an 8:09 p.m. report that a man in a hooded sweatshirt was on the property at 48 Wellman St., but they were unable to locate him.

Friday

A 12:56 p.m. report that an older woman had been “standing for an hour” brought police to Sohier and Tozer roads, where they determined she was waiting for a bus.

At 1:13 p.m., an officer on Manor Road arrested Ariel Beaulieu, 22, of 605 Manor Road, Beverly, on a charge of assault and battery.
