A man reported that someone broke into 31 Hazel St. overnight and stole a bunch of tools being used for a renovation, according to a 11:34 a.m. report.
A set of house and car keys were reported stolen from 107 Federal St., Apt. 3, at 2:25 p.m. The keys had been left in the door, according to the police report.
At 3:15 p.m., a driver of a 2006 Toyota Corolla reported to police that her rear window was shattered by an object thrown at the car on Loring Avenue.
The tires and rims were reported stolen from a small girls bike at 26 Pickman Road, according to 4:45 p.m. report. The bike was valued at $75.
Kristin Newberry-Botchie, 46, of 6 Fisher Ave., Swampscott, was arrested on charges on charges of drunken driving and a marked lanes violation after a crash at the intersections of Canal and Hancock streets at 9:21 p.m. Newberry-Botchie stated that she became distracted when she picked up her cellphone and drifted into the right side of the road and hit a parked van, according to the police report.
Jose E. Alcantara, 19, of 25 Hazel St., Salem, was arrested after a crash on Canal Street on charges of drunken driving, operating an unregistered vehicle and leaving the scene after property damage, according to a 2:01 a.m. report. Alcantara fled the scene on foot, according to the report.
Jennifer G. Armano, 28, of 54 Derby St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery, according to a 2:07 a.m. report.
Steven G. Jach, 52, of 11 Foster St., Peabody, was arrested on a charge of drunken driving, second offense, after crashing on Phillips Street, according to a 3:52 a.m. report. According to the report, Jach agreed to a field sobriety test and “related the alphabet ... in the following way, ‘a, b, c, d, l, m, q,’ and the rest was slurred and mumbled.”
