Meeting tonight on Salem's plan for more public art

SALEM — The public is invited to a forum tonight to give input and learn more about the city’s plan to increase public art offerings.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Salem Five Community Room, 210 Essex St.

Last spring, the city received a $25,000 federal grant to hire a consultant to create a citywide master plan for public art, focusing on the Essex Street pedestrian mall.

The Peabody Essex Museum and Salem Partnership are partners in the project, funded through the National Endowment for the Arts “Art Works” program.
