Police fielded a 3:44 p.m. report that arrows had been found in the yard at 88 Poplar St.

Police and the Fire Department received an 8:15 p.m. report that a lightning strike had caused a small fire near a building at Ira Toyota, 161 Andover St., according to radio reports. A dispatcher said later that the fire was actually caused by a downed electrical line. It was unclear what caught fire, but no structures were involved, he said.

Both directions of Route 62 between Vineyard and Forest streets were closed to traffic as of 8:30 p.m. after a tree was knocked into the roadway during the thunderstorm.



At 10:04 p.m., police at 61 Maple St. arrested Scott Currier, 54, of the same address, on charges of domestic assault and battery and intimidation of a witness.
