A caller from 85 Main St. reported at 10:20 a.m. that he had trapped a skunk. Police advised him he was responsible for removing it from the trap and setting it free. Police suggested he call Mass. Wildlife for tips on how to set it free without getting sprayed.

Police removed a syringe found at 98 Lake St. at Lindauer St. at 10:41 a.m.



Patrolman Eric Clarizia stopped a motor vehicle in the vicinity of 31 Maple St. at 5:25 p.m. and arrested Jennifer Barrett, 33, of 19 Bryant St., Salem, and charged her with unlicensed operation and driving without a registration in her possession.


Patrolmen Christopher Gaffney and Justin Ellenton made a drunken-driving arrest at 12:36 a.m. on Andover Street and Route 95. Jessica Rose Lamie, 42, of 2435 Founders Way, Saugus, was charged with drunken driving, first offense.

Christopher Amado, 27, of 27 Pulaski St., Peabody, was arrested by Patrolman Michael Balsley at 6:44 p.m. in the vicinity of Dunkin’ Donuts at 135 Andover St. and charged with driving with a suspended license and with an altered exhaust.

Kelly McGovern, 45, 198 Washington St., Peabody, was arrested by Patrolman John Melto at 3:49 p.m. in the vicinity of Panera Bread at Liberty Tree Mall, 100 Independence Way, and charged with drunken driving, second offense. Melto had responded to a report of an accident with no personal injury involved.



Police received a report of a dog hit by a motor vehicle in the vicinity of 65 Essex St. at 6:34 a.m. Parties had left the scene by the time police arrived.

Police stopped a vehicle on Danvers Road at 12:12 p.m. for having a revoked registration and an insurance cancellation. Police found that the driver had a suspended license and three warrants. The registered owner of the vehicle was mailed a citation for allowing an unregistered vehicle on a public way and allowing someone without a license to drive it. Nelson Torres, 29, of 17 Highland Ave., Lynn, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, subsequent offense, driving a vehicle with a revoked registration, driving with an uninsured trailer and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. The warrant charges were traffic related. Patrolman Michael Frayler was the arresting officer.
