Swampscott

Tuesday

Christine Curley, 33, of 9 Brookster Terrace, Swampscott, was arrested at 6:25 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after a caller reported someone out of control and kicking a car. Curley also had four warrants for drug possession and traffic violations.

Someone from Magnolia Road called at 7:55 p.m. saying there was a squirrel outside attacking him. The caller was using a broom to knock it away. Police instructed him to go inside if he could do so safely. The squirrel was contained in a box, and neighbors on Arbutus Road took possession of it until the animal control officer could get it.

Two motor vehicles were struck on Blaney Street. One vehicle fled toward Humphrey Street at 9:23 p.m.

Thursday

A 94-year-old woman was transported to Salem Hospital from a Shelton Road address after an 11:53 a.m. report that she’d fallen and injured her head.

Police received a 4:14 p.m. report that copper gutters had been stolen from a Phillips Beach Avenue address.

Friday

Police received a 6:58 a.m. report that there was a mattress in the middle of the roadway at West Shore Drive and Lafayette Street.

Beverly

Wednesday

A 6:34 p.m. report that kids were throwing things at homes brought police to 17 Andover St., where they determined a youth had thrown a tennis ball at a house.

Thursday

Police received an 8:49 a.m. report that a woman had been heard calling for help in the distance by somebody in the vicinity of Jordan Street, but they were unable to locate anything amiss.

A 4:43 p.m. report that a dog owner was not picking up the animal’s waste brought police to Lothrop Street. “Dog owner picked up the poop,” an officer wrote later.

Friday

The Fire Department extinguished a small brush fire in the vicinity of Brimbal Avenue and Broughton Drive, according to a 2:55 a.m. log item.
