Junkyard for sale

2.23-acre site on North River on market for $2.4 million

“I did bring it up to CLF, and they said, ‘Oh, that’s what we call it,’” Warren said. “It doesn’t make sense ... we’re in the Salem Sound watershed.”

The Salem News was unable to reach the Ferris family for comment.

The North River Canal Corridor is host to a number of current or planned development projects, including apartment complexes at the former Salem Suede factory on Flint Street and the former Salem Oil & Grease site on Harmony Grove Road.

Development in the area is guided by the city’s master plan for the North River Canal Corridor and subject to certain restrictions.
