Police: Woman arrested after knife assault

SALEM — Police say a woman was arrested on multiple charges Thursday after she assaulted a woman with a knife at a residence on Endicott Street.

Bryna Charles Rudolph, 34, homeless, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to murder, threatening to commit a crime and violating a protective order.

Police responded to 48 Endicott St. after a 3:54 p.m. report from a nurse who said she’d found a woman at the address laying on the floor and bleeding from the hand, according to the incident log and an interview with Lt. Matthew Desmond.

“Upon arrival, I met with the injured female’s nurse, who stated that there was just a domestic disturbance at the residence prior to the nurse’s arrival,” wrote officer Jonathan Loyte. “The other female party fled the home out the back door.”

Police were initially unable to find Rudolph. Desmond said officers eventually pinged her phone and located her back at 48 Endicott St., the site of the incident.
