They got the plate numbers after a customer drove away from Hess on North Street without paying $34.12 — but the plates came back canceled, as logged at 7:24 p.m.

Kids throwing snowballs at a store on Congress Street didn’t inspire a call to police until one of them opened the door and hurled one inside the store, as logged at 8:25 p.m.

Notified of a “suspicious vehicle” on Dundee Street, according to the log at 11:32 p.m., police approached and “observed a male in the driver’s seat slumped to his right side. The party was unresponsive.” An officer “observed the motor vehicle to be running and in drive.” He opened the door and put it in park. The man and the vehicle were turned over to Peabody police after it was determined that the sedan was actually in Peabody.

Sunday

Andre R. Wesley, 25, of 106 Boston St., Salem, was arrested at 1:06 a.m. on Boston Street by Patrolmen Roberson Troncoso and Joshua Gerrard on a charge of being disorderly. Encountering 12 youths, police say one “began to yell and excite the group,” according to the log. He was asked to leave and “began to yell back.”

Police were called to investigate a house break on MacArthur Boulevard, as logged at 9:23 p.m.

Saturday

An accident with personal injury was recorded at 3:27 p.m. on Interstate 95 south at Maple Street.

Multiple cars were involved in an accident on Route 1 at 4:16 p.m. Some injuries were reported. At 5:45 p.m., a second accident with “multiple cars,” according to the log, at Interstate 95 south near Center Street also resulted in injury. State police downplayed the seriousness of the injuries.
