Armed robber hits Georgia's Pizza in Salem

SALEM — A man wearing a mask and showing a knife robbed Georgia’s Pizza on Norman Street just after 9 last night.

Wearing a black coat and jeans, the masked man was disguised well enough that the victim could not describe his race, according to police. He fled up Crombie Street, then toward Essex Street with cash. The amount has not been revealed.

No one was injured in the incident.

Every cruiser available in the city joined the search, but the suspect could not be located.

According to police, the on-call detective was notified and sent to the scene following the robbery.

An investigation is ongoing.

No further information was available at press time last night.
