Wenham getting its first pizza shop

The pizza shop will be next to Lekkakos’ salon, M. Lekkakos Salon, Spa & Boutique.

Two years ago, the town celebrated a so-called business renaissance with several new retail stores opening in downtown, including Grassy Roots and Viola Lovely boutique.

Lekkakos said she loves the concept of the pizza shop, especially its gluten-free and healthier options. Like Fenerjian, she said the shop will blend in well with the other businesses downtown.

“I think it is great to have a pizza place, because we don’t have one,” Lekkakos said. “It is a new brand and a new concept.”

Lekkakos has been credited with much of the business development downtown in recent years.

“It is great for the downtown to have these new businesses because it gives residents a place to shop here in town,” she said. “It is nice to give the consumers something new to try, and hopefully they will frequent the other businesses, as well.”
