Crews installing underground gas line

SALEM — Utility crews will install a new underground gas line to the Peabody Essex Museum this week.

Starting today, crews will dig a trench on Charter Street, beginning at Derby Street and up Hawthorne Boulevard. The work is expected to be completed within a week.

The museum is undergoing a $200 million expansion and construction project.
