Wednesday

Police received a 4:33 p.m. report from a woman at Harbor Avenue and Foster Street that a man with a floppy hat and a backpack was “standing in a manner which made her think he was in distress or vomiting.” An officer determined the man was “walking the causeway” and did not appear to be in distress.

A 4:49 p.m. report of minors drinking under the bridge on Village Street resulted in the arrest of Olivia Hitchens, 19, of 653 Chestnut St., Waban; Neil Rae, 17, of 357 Commercial St., Boston; and Brendon Lilly, 20, of 14 Ledgewood Circle, Topsfield, each on a charge of being a person under 21 in possession of alcohol.

A Maverick Court woman reported her husband was drunk driving at 5:01 p.m, resulting in the arrest of Matthew E. Denis, 49, of 10 Maverick Court, Marblehead, on charges of drunken driving second offense and a marked lanes violation.

Wednesday

Police received an 8 p.m. report of a man standing on the bridge railing on Cabot Street near the Salem line. Officers responded and found a 42-year-old man who said he was just heading to the bar and denied standing on the railing, according to Officer Dave Costa. The man refused medical attention.

A 10:19 p.m. report of an argument at 45 Baker Ave. resulted in the arrest of Kenneth Regan, 49, of 45 Baker Ave., Beverly, on a charge of domestic assault.

A smell of smoke in the area of Hale Street and Eisenhower Avenue was reported to police at 10:24 p.m., but neither officers nor the Fire Department found any sign of fire.

Thursday

Police received a 9:44 a.m. report from National Grid personnel that two people had been sleeping in the basement of a building they were terminating service to. Officers responded but the people had left prior to their arrival.
