A woman complained at 5:18 p.m. that while driving on Route 128 north a man in "a blue Toyota jammed on his brakes and repeatedly made gestures at her," according to the log. He got off at Exit 40 and headed toward downtown Beverly.
Police responded at 6:50 p.m. to a report of man "down on platform" at the train depot. But when they arrived, the man walked away, calling officers obscene names and telling them "not to bother him."

A disturbance on Cedar Street at 12:16 a.m. turned out to be someone yelling at the TV. The individual was urged to keep quiet.
A man injured in a car accident on Hale Street was taken to Beverly Hospital with a possible head injury. "Doesn't know what he hit," police said in the log at 1:26 a.m.
Linda Gelardi, 52, of 245 Cabot St., Beverly, was arrested at 1:56 a.m. on Cabot Street by Patrolmen Scott Leblanc and Timothy Mezza on a charge of disturbing the peace. Police had responded to a report of a "woman yelling," according to the log.
A car was reported as vandalized on Brimbal Avenue at 9:04 a.m.
Police were alerted to stolen copper on River Street at 9:11 a.m.
A car was reported as vandalized on Winthrop Avenue at 12:39 p.m.
Jonathan Kristopher Caruso, 21, of 255 Stackpole St., Lowell, was arrested at 3:07 p.m. on Myrtle Street on charges of breaking and entering to commit a felony and disturbing the peace. Police responded to a report of a vehicle break-in.
David J. Cook, 49, of 16 Elliott St., Beverly, was arrested at 11:28 p.m. at home on a charge of assault and battery. Police responded to a report of a "crazy person with knife," according to the log. Participating in the arrest were Patrolmen Dana Nicholson, Harold Geary, Antonio Diruzza and Sgt. David Faustino.

Sarah E. MacDonald, 31, of 45 Fairview Road, Lynnfield, was arrested at 1:10 a.m. at Rantoul and School streets and charged with drunken driving and marked lanes violations. The arrest followed a report of an erratic driver.
A vehicle was broken into on Bisson Street, according to the log at 11:09 a.m.
Larceny on Paine Avenue was investigated at 11:40 a.m.

Insurance won't cover it, a man told police at 1:05 a.m. on Tremont Street after discovering the driver's-side window of his Honda smashed near Mack Park.
A warrant was sought after a woman on Pope Street complained to police at 3:35 a.m. that her boyfriend of five months had kneed her in the stomach, pushed her against a wall, pulled her hair, and stole her car and cellphone after she asked him to move out. The woman's young daughter witnessed the attack. Charges will include assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — the wall she was thrown into, intimidation of a witness, and unauthorized use of the vehicle. Police urged the woman to call if the boyfriend returns.
A woman on Lafayette Street told police at 8:27 a.m. that "she had a couple of people over last night and was sharing her food with them. She left her apartment for a few minutes as she went down the hall. When she returned, no one was left inside her apartment and her laptop was missing."
Selvin Herrera, 30, of 106 Essex St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of stealing more than $250, being disorderly, resisting arrest and having two outstanding warrants, according to the log at 1:02 p.m. Acting on the description of a shoplifter offered by the CVS on Essex Street, Officer Charlene Sano spotted Herrera riding his bicycle and ordered him to stop. "Herrera took one look at this officer and continued riding his bike," according to the log. "Herrera took this officer along with other marked units on a chase. ... Herrera crossed main roads and intersections without stopping, causing normal vehicular traffic to come to a screeching halt." Meanwhile, Patrolman Frederick Dubiel later found Herrara's bike abandoned in an alley off Washington Street. The suspect was finally located by Sgt. Kristian Hanson of the Special Response Unit. Police say video footage reviewed by Sgt. Peter Gifford confirms his shoplifting, and $343.06 worth of CVS products were found on him.

Murat Taskaynatan, 33, of 16 Silverleaf Way, Peabody, was arrested at 1:10 a.m. on Main Street by Officer David Bonfanti and charged with driving with a revoked license.
A house break on Washington Street was reported at 9:21 a.m.
Walgreens will provide video after a man reported at 1:09 p.m. that his bicycle was stolen at Walgreens.
Someone contacted animal control at 1:56 p.m. wondering how to release a bat. He was advised to place it in a bush.
