Mahi Mahi still cruising after fire

SALEM — Mahi Mahi Cruises is still in operation despite a weekend fire in its ticket booth at Salem Willows.

The electrical fire around 8 p.m. Friday damaged a small storage area in the shed, which is next to the Salem Willows pier. It was quickly extinguished by the Fire Department.

The 47-passenger power boat was unharmed, the company said.

Mahi Mahi runs cruises out of Salem through Halloween. During the month of October, it shifts its operation to Pickering Wharf.

The fire appeared to start in the rear of the building near an air conditioner, according to police.

The Fire Department is investigating.
