One man will be summonsed for driving without a license following a two-car accident on Lynn Street, according to the log at 5:42 p.m.
Teething was the explanation when police were called to Dearborn Road at 7:54 p.m. and a complaint that “a child has been screaming for half an hour now,” according to the log. Mom reported her son “is not happy.”
Braudys Nunez, 18, 5 Fulton St., Peabody, was arrested at 10:42 p.m. at Main Street by Officer David B. Murphy on charges of driving without a license, registration or insurance, receiving stolen property and attaching false plates.
Cheryl Callahan, 42, no address, was arrested, according to the log at 11:33 p.m., on Derby Street by Patrolman Michael Ball on a charge of evading a taxi fare. She was also wanted on an active warrant. The cabbie told police he had picked the woman up in Portsmouth but when they arrived in Salem she said she had to go inside a rear door on Derby Street to get the money. She didn’t come back. “I did open the door,” the officer reported. There he found Callahan “standing in the dark.”
Tahari D. Jones, 30, 33 Lincoln St., Lynn, was arrested, according to the log at 5:51 a.m. on Linden Street on a charge of malicious destruction of property. Jones was said to have broken a panel on a door during an argument with his girlfriend. Responding were patrolmen Derek White, Robert Cunningham and William Riley.
A security officer at Salem Hospital was assaulted after he told a patient he may be “sectioned 12,” detained against his will for reasons having to do with mental health. Police will summons the patient for assault and battery, according to a 9:50 a.m. log entry.
Antonio Mendez, 30, 142 Timson St., Lynn was arrested at 10:47 a.m. on Canal Street by Patrolman William Jennings on charges of driving without a license and failing to yield. The arrest followed a two-car collision. There were no complaints of injury.
