A small fire in the woods near First Street was doused by the Salem Fire Department, as logged at 1:15 p.m.
Police investigated a report of “unknown man following a child” on Sohier Road, according to an 11:31 a.m. log entry.
It wasn’t just the noise on Mason Street that drew complaints over the student party at 12:19 a.m. It was also the fighting and urinating in the street. Police gave a warning that the next visit would mean arrests.
A resident on West Dane Street called police at 12:25 a.m. over a past break in.
The report of someone atop the Salem-Beverly Bridge brought a quick reaction at 9:38 a.m. But the woman told officers “she was only looking at the boats,” according to the log. And on her way she went. Even so, police, including Salem, Beverly and the Beverly Harbor unit, were summoned again at 3:37 p.m. regarding a woman “looking over side of bridge. ... Nothing showing,” when they got there.
In a bad day for bikes an ambulance was called following an accident involving a vehicle and bike on Elliott Street, as logged at 11:23 a.m. Another collision with a bike was reported on Enon Street at 4:43 p.m. An ambulance was called again.
A customer at a Dodge Street gas station paid for $6 worth of gas but before he could get back to the pump someone else filled his tank with the gas. Police note it could have been done inadvertently. The gas station repaid the unlucky customer, as logged at 10:27 a.m.
Vandalism to a vehicle was reported on Ives Street at 12:42 p.m.
Clifford Teague, 44, 13 Arlington St., Lynn, was arrested, according to the log at 9:11 p.m., near the Brooksby Village Drive Walmart by Officer Peter Shabowich on a charge of larceny over $250. Police had responded to a report of shoplifting. In the same incident, Justin Hutchinson, 24, 154 Lynnway, Lynn, was arrested for larceny over $250 and disorderly conduct and Karyn Anderson, 39, 72 Essex St., Saugus, was arrested for failing to stop for police, speeding and marked lane violations.
