Police received an 8:39 a.m. report that somebody had found a camera near Village Street that contained photos of “historical landmarks in Salem.”

A caller reported a “ridiculous situation where a woman was refusing to move her car and two buses were stuck” at Washington and Pickett streets at 9:19 a.m. Police wrote later: “The woman finally moved the car and traffic could flow.”

A Pleasant Street woman reported at 12:57 p.m. that a cross-trainer had been stolen from the sidewalk in front of her house after it had been left there several days. “She said her daughter was coming to get it and there was a note on it saying it wasn’t trash and wasn’t for free,” wrote police.

Police received a 3:40 p.m. report that a woman in beige pants was “aggressively” trying to stop traffic “telling them she needs a ride” at Green Street and Powder House Court. Police were unable to locate her.

A Central Street woman reported losing a small change purse at 4:26 p.m., but she called back later and said she had found it.

A woman reported at 4:43 p.m. that somebody had stolen a wallet containing $228 in cash from her unlocked car on Heritage Way.

A woman reported fireworks at Circle and Front streets at 8:59 p.m. “No longer going on, but it was quite a display,” wrote police. “She was advised to call back if they start again.”

Police received a 9:27 p.m. report that fireworks being set off near Norman Street “may cause a fire at the boat yard.” Police wrote later: “Officer reports kids running upon his arrival.”

Thursday

A Washington Street man reported at 6:08 a.m. that his ex-wife was “banging on the door” and “threatening to kill him.”

A woman on Pleasant Street called police at 11:50 a.m. to seek permission “to block in cars and park illegally so she and her family could ring the bells at the church.”
