3-alarm blaze in Salem Willows

SALEM —

A two-story house on the waterfront in Salem Willows was damaged in an early morning fire.

The three-alarm blaze, which was reported at 8:39 a.m., started in the basement of a house at 1 Beach Ave., according to a witness.

Flames went up the side of the house to the second floor, according to officials.

Firefighters from Salem and neighboring communities had the fire under control at 10:05 a.m.
