Mall fight leads to arrest

DANVERS — Police say a man who was arrested after a fight with a woman at the Liberty Tree Mall on Monday afternoon has been charged with assaulting her two days before.

Joseph Cobb, 30, of 26 Cabot Road, Danvers, was initially arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after an officer responded to a 6:37 p.m. report that an “irate” man was arguing with a woman at the mall, Lt. Carole Germano said.

A subsequent interview with the woman by police determined that Cobb had choked her during a domestic violence incident at another location on Saturday, she said.

Police declined to comment on any injuries that the woman might have sustained.
