---- — SWAMPSCOTT — Police say a Marblehead teenager was arrested yesterday after an officer found more than 8 ounces of suspected marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

Ryan Caliri, 17, of 54 Prospect St., was arrested on a charge of possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute and a stop sign violation, according to a press release from Detective Sgt. Tim Cassidy.

Cassidy wrote that Officer Mike Frayler pulled a vehicle over after seeing it go through a stop sign at Banks and Walker roads yesterday.

“Following the stop of the motor vehicle Officer Frayler could smell a strong odor of fresh marijuana from inside the vehicle,” Cassidy wrote.

Police say drug paraphernalia was also seized from Caliri during the stop.
