Police were unable to locate anything amiss after a 10:47 a.m. report that somebody in a blue Jeep had tossed out a “Chardonnay container” as they went around a corner at Ramsay and Waterside roads.
The DPW was notified after police determined that a can of floor finish had been spilled in the roadway at Bessom and Pleasant streets, according to a 5:58 p.m. log item.
A 13-year-old was transported to North Shore Children’s Hospital after a 6:43 p.m. report that he or she had sustained a possible concussion in a field on West Shore Drive.
Police received a 6:51 p.m. report that a motorcyclist had crashed after slipping on a product put down over the earlier spill at Bessom and Pleasant streets. The motorcycle crashed into a vehicle; no injuries were reported. The DPW was contacted again to “sweep up the sand and product in roadway.”
Police received a 9:56 p.m. report that a man at the beach near Ocean Avenue was “either intoxicated or under the influence of something.” Police wrote: “He was swimming and is now on the beach digging a hole. He is near the start of the causeway area and seems to be by himself.” An officer later located the man: “Just taking a swim off the beach.”
A woman reported at 11:33 p.m. that a “shady male” had followed her at the White Hen Pantry on Pleasant Street and then stole her iPhone from the counter. A clerk identified a suspect and John R. Page, 31, of 191 Pleasant St., Apt. 2, Marblehead, was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250.
Police received a 5:15 p.m. report that $400 in cash and a GPS device had been stolen from a mobile home at 266 Newbury St.
An officer conducted a traffic stop on Lynn Street at 5:26 p.m. and gave a verbal warning for a red light violation to a woman who said she was “trying to catch up to her husband because he is drinking while driving a white Isuzu box truck.”
