---- — HAMILTON — Due to low flow levels of the Ipswich River, Hamilton town officials have declared a mandatory outdoor water ban.
Under the ban, all nonessential and mechanical outside water is prohibited, according to information provided by the town. The ban also includes water from private wells.
The town defines nonessential water use as including “those uses that do not have health or safety impacts, are not required by regulation and are not needed to meet the core functions of a business or other organization.”
Hand-watering is allowed between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.
