---- — PEABODY — Police say a female who possibly shoplifted more than $100,000 in merchandise from stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire is also a suspect in several recent incidents at the Northshore Mall.

Detective Michael Crane issued a press release about the female yesterday afternoon, saying she was a “person of interest and possible suspect” in multiple retail thefts in at least three different jurisdictions.

Surveillance photographs released at the same time seem to indicate the female was young and white or Hispanic.

At the time of the photograph, she was wearing white sneakers, jeans and a green or gray shirt.

An officer said last night that the female was a suspect in several larcenies from stores at the Northshore Mall over the past few months. Although he was unable to provide information about specific stores that had been targeted, the mall has seen many reports of shoplifting incidents, including multiple ones at Victoria’s Secret, where $1,500 worth of items was reported stolen just last Thursday.

Police urge anybody with information to contact Detective Ralph Scopa at 978-538-6324. Information can also be relayed via an anonymous text message program called Tip411, which can be accessed at the department’s website at www.peabodypolice.org.
