BEVERLY — Shore Country Day School in Beverly held a ribbon-cutting Friday morning for its new, two-story Lawrence A. Griffin Center for Creativity.
The center, designed by Chris Doktor at Olson Lewis & Architects in Manchester-by-the-Sea, includes a 375-seat, multilevel theater. Griffin, for whom the center is named, has been head of school at Shore Country Day for 25 years.
The campus upgrade project also included a new classroom addition and renovations to existing classrooms and offices.
Shore Country Day is an independent private school with about 435 children in preschool through grade nine.
Children were involved throughout the construction process and even used construction debris in their art classes.
