---- — SALEM — Police say a group of girls will face charges after they lured another girl to the Salem train station and assaulted her — then posted a video of the beating on the Internet.
The 17-year-old victim told police about the assault on Sunday evening, saying that on Sept. 2 she had been asked to meet a girl she knew at the station.
When she showed up, she was confronted by four girls “looking to fight her” in the bus pickup area, according to the incident log and an interview with an officer.
During the ensuing struggle, the victim was kicked in the head by one girl and assaulted by another — all while a third recorded it on video.
That girl later posted the video on YouTube, police say.
The suspects ranged in age from 15 to 18. An officer was planning to apply for warrants for one on charges of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot), another on charges of assault and battery and being an accessory before the fact to a felony, and the two others on a charge of being an accessory before the fact to a felony.
It was unclear what injuries the victim might have sustained during the incident.
