Undercover sting targets Craigslist prostitution

SALEM — Two women were arrested on prostitution charges yesterday after a detective responded to their advertisement and arranged to have sex with them for $100, police say.

Jennifer Francis, 19, of 5 Innis Drive, Danvers, and Caitlin Condon, 20, of 26 W. Dane St., Apt. 3, Beverly, were each arrested on a charge of prostitution.

Detective Sgt. Kristian Hanson said the investigation began last week, when police contacted the pair regarding their online advertisement.

Yesterday, the women responded “to see if we were interested,” then agreed to meet at a local motel, Hanson said.

Detective Thomas Brennan handled the negotiation, which occurred in his vehicle outside the motel yesterday evening. The women agreed to perform “multiple different” sexual acts in exchange for the $100, Hanson said.

Assisting with the investigation were detectives Dennis Gaudet and Kevin St. Pierre, along with Lt. Stephen Bona.
