By Bethany Bray

---- — SALEM — Salem Sound Coastwatch and the National Park Service will host a series of five lectures this fall on the impacts of climate change on New England.

The free lectures, to be held at the Salem Visitor Center at 2 Liberty St., will begin Sept. 17 and run every Thursday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. through Oct. 15.

Speakers include representatives from Salem Sound Coastwatch, the University of New Hampshire, the U.S. Offshore Wind Collaborative, the New England Aquarium and the National Park Service.

According to the Park Service, the speakers will touch on “the consequences of climate change on urban communities, protected areas and regional ecosystems in New England.” Each lecture will include a question-and-answer session with the audience.

Cameron Wake, a research associate professor at UNH, will kick off the series Sept. 17 with a lecture titled “Climate Change in Coastal New England: Past, Present, and Future.”
