Police received a 6:28 p.m. report that somebody had stolen approximately 100 Magic Markers from a home on Northend Avenue. “No signs of forced entry,” wrote an officer. “No suspects or witnesses at this time.”

A youth had been shot with a BB gun by a friend on Orchard Street, according to a 7:31 p.m. log item.

A man reported at 7:52 p.m. that somebody had tried to put some kind of substance — possibly sugar — into his gas tank while it was parked at 12 First St.

Thursday

A woman at 116 Lafayette St. reported at 12:28 a.m. that she wanted another woman to leave her apartment. Michele Lee Amirault, 34, of 100 Willow St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of being a fugitive from justice. Amirault was apparently wanted on a warrant out of Rockingham County, New Hampshire.

Police received a 1:37 a.m. report that a man was laying on the sidewalk near 11 Pearl St. Timothy J. Linder Jr., 31, of 13 Pearl St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.

The catalytic converter had been cut from a vehicle parked in a rear lot of Salem Hospital, according to a 7:59 a.m. report. Another one was reportedly taken from a vehicle nearby, according to a 10:23 a.m. log item.

Police received an 11:53 a.m. report that a former employee of the Great Escape restaurant on Saint Peter Street had dined with another male and then left without paying the $77.04 bill. One of the man’s relatives subsequently paid the tab, according to the log.

School Committee candidate and current member Janet Crane reported at 12:09 p.m. that five of her campaign signs had been stolen from various parts of the city between the previous Saturday and Tuesday, according to the log. Two of the signs were stolen from Loring Avenue and one each from Lafayette Street, North Street and Jefferson Avenue. Police said there were no suspects or witnesses of the theft at this time.
