Mack Park still seeks tenant

SALEM — The future of a building at Mack Park is still up in the air.

The Park and Recreation Commission decided to seek a new round of proposals after getting only one response from Salem Little League in its most recent attempt to lease the property.

The commissioners encouraged Little League to submit a new proposal teaming with other organizations, possibly Salem Community Gardens and the Mack Park Association.

"We're hoping to get a number of organizations together," Park Director Doug Bollen said. "We're going out again in the hope for a really strong submission by a number of groups together to expand the public use of the building."

The Mack Park building has been vacant since the Park and Recreation Department moved out in 2006.
