A 9:20 p.m. report of a small child sitting in a parking lot brought police to the Latitude Sports Club at 194 Newbury St. Police wrote: “Officer checked the area. There was no child. However, there was an out-of-service fire hydrant with a plastic warning bag over it. The officer feels that on a quick glance that’s what the occupants of the vehicle saw. The lot is clear. All in order.”
A noise “like gunshots” was reported at 22 Broad St. at 2:55 a.m., but police were unable to find anything amiss in the area.
A woman reported at 9:31 a.m. that her 23-year-old son had gone missing. She’d last seen the man in July 2012, according to the log.
Police received a 1:04 a.m. report that a Collins Street woman believed her child’s father and his friend had stolen a $40 check from her and cashed it.
A 6:36 p.m. report of a domestic disturbance brought police to 2310 Broughton Drive. Subsequently arrested was Leeann Grimes, 32, of the same address, on a charge of assault and battery.
Keith Knowlton, 48, of 21 Balch St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older, according to the log. Officers declined to provide additional information.
Officers assisted Lynn police in investigating a shooting on Hillside Avenue, just over the line from Swampscott, around 6 a.m.
Police received a 3:24 p.m. report that a man with tattoos stole items from Marshalls on Paradise Road and left the area on a bicycle.
A big raccoon was “walking around and up the stairs” at a Walker Road address, according to a 6:42 p.m. report.
Police received a 6:34 p.m. report from a Lafayette Street woman who said her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend was “driving around her house and beeping her horn.”
