A 7:40 p.m. report of a domestic disturbance brought police to Prospect Street, where they determined a father and daughter were arguing “over chores.”

Monday

A stop sign had been knocked over at Green and Elm streets, according to a 5:34 a.m. log item.

Peabody

Sunday

A 3:43 p.m. report of a shoplifter at the Macy’s at the Northshore Mall resulted in the arrest of David A. Todisco, 31, of 59 Wordsworth St., Apt. 1, East Boston, on charges of two counts of shoplifting, third offense; possession of a burglarious instrument; and resisting arrest.

Police received a 3:53 p.m. report that a young child had been crying for over an hour and its parents were yelling in a foreign language at 21 Caller St. An officer determined the child was playing and fine.

An 8:34 p.m. report that a 44-year-old man was out of control at an address at 4111 Crane Brook Way resulted in the arrest of Edward Shaw, 43, of the same address, on charges of domestic assault and battery and domestic assault.

Two rings, a wedding band and cash were reported stolen from 196 Lynn St. at 9:53 p.m.

Monday

A 1:23 p.m. report of a family dispute at 51 N. Central St. resulted in the arrest of Kyle Chenery, 24, of the same address, on charges of malicious destruction of property over $250 and domestic assault and battery.

Swampscott

Sunday

Police received a 9:48 a.m. report that a mattress had been dumped on a woman’s property at 132 Northolk Ave. “Appears it fell off truck, DPW will need to be notified,” wrote police.

Salem

Sunday

Police and the Fire Department responded to a 12:56 p.m. report of a possible house fire at 9 Linden Ave. and determined smoke in the cellar was from a faulty dryer cord.

A Shillaber Street woman reported at 2:29 p.m. that she sold a watch over eBay to somebody in New Jersey for $625, but the person had been dissatisfied with the purchase and sent the box back — empty.
