The owner of Dave Frank's Motorcycle Sales on Bridge Street called police at 10:13 a.m. to report an attempted break-in sometime overnight. The door to the business had been dented and damaged but no access gained.
Starr M. High, 32, of 32 Osborne St., Lynn, was arrested at 110 Rainbow Terrace at 7:11 p.m. and charged with assault and battery, two counts of child endangerment by drunken driving, driving under the influence of drugs and driving without being licensed.
John J. Gillooly Jr., 38, of 30 Crowdis St., Salem, was arrested at 7:35 p.m. at Boston and Essex streets and charged with violating a protective order, threatening to commit a crime and assault.
Officers conducted an alcohol compliance check at 13 establishments from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. None were found in violation.
Police responded to the Salem Common at 7:42 p.m. for a report of a stolen pocketbook. Car and house keys and a cell phone were reported taken. The woman told police she placed the pocketbook next to her on a bench and turned to talk to a friend when it was stolen.
Friday
Police were called to Buffum Street at 12:34 a.m. on a report of an unattended, naked child roaming the street. A worker for the Department of Children and Families was driving by and spotted the child. Officers were able to find the child's stepfather, who had been sleeping. The child had apparently snuck out unnoticed. An initial report was taken by the DCF worker.
Christopher M. Lonergan, 33, of 292 Washington St., Salem, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. and charged with being a disorderly person and resisting arrest.
Luis E. Silva-Baltazar, 41, Of 91 Hanover St., Lynn, was arrested at 10:35 a.m. after a traffic stop on Warren and Flint streets and charged with driving without being licensed and violating a red light or stop sign.
Beverly
Thursday
Police received a report of a coyote at the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club at 9:09 a.m. The animal was spotted near the first hole. The animal control officer was contacted.
Police received a report at 9:36 a.m. of breaking and entering of a car and items taken while parked on West Dane Street.
Police responded to a Converse Court residence after an emergency call hang-up at 5:09 p.m. The call was reported accidental by a child. Police, however, spotted a person jump from a second-floor window and run toward Prides Crossing. The individual's name was not available but the logs said the person had two outstanding warrants.
A cell phone was reported stolen at 7:06 p.m. from a locker at the Beverly Athletic Club on Reservoir Street.
Officers conducted an "over the limit, under arrest" patrol citywide between 9:30 p.m. 1:30 a.m. Friday. Twelve cars were stopped, eight verbal warnings and four seatbelt violation citations were issued. The officer also assisted with a drunken driving arrest.
Robert W. Waldie, 51, of 7a River Drive, Danvers, was arrested at 10:46 p.m. at the intersection of Elliot Street and Echo Avenue and charged with drunken driving, failure to stop for police, marked lanes violation and a car light violation.
Friday
Police were called to a Jasper Street residence at 9:47 a.m. for a report of stolen jewelry charms worth $20 from a car.
Paint was reported stolen at 10:13 a.m. from a Rantoul Street address.
A police officer noted a MassDOT crew line painting on Hale Street without a police detail. The crew had blocked a part of the street in front of St. Margaret's rectory. A second MassDOT crew, not associated with the first, was also noted. The paving crew did hire a detail, the police logs said.
An Elliot Street resident called police at 11:52 to report the theft or loss of the car owner's license plate.
Police received a report at 12:12 p.m. of a stolen check for $1,000 cashed by an Elliot Street resident.
Preston Ferraro Jr., 24, of 41 Elliot St., Beverly, was arrested at 7:18 p.m. on Elliot Street on charges of speeding and driving with a suspended license.

A car was reported stolen at 6:01 p.m. from the Liberty Tree Mall.
Police were called at 9:37 p.m. to the Applebee's Restaurant on Independence Drive for a report a disorderly person.
Friday
William Long, 48, of 6 McLean Road, Saugus, was arrested at 1:28 a.m. at the Motel 6 on Route 1 and charged with domestic assault and battery.
Raymond Turner, 20, of 382 Essex St., Lynn, was arrested at 7:41 a.m. at the intersection of Garden and Prince streets and charged with driving with a suspended license and a stop sign violation.
Police received a report at 9:49 a.m. of a scam or swindle from Riverside Avenue address.
Police received a report 10:39 a.m. of breaking and entering of a car parked at the Liberty Tree Mall.
Shoplifting was reported at 1:25 p.m. at the Walmart on Brooksby Village Drive.
A bike was reported stolen at 3:56 p.m. from a Water Street address.
Swampscott
Thursday
Police received a report at 8:29 p.m. of three female shoplifters taking large quantities of merchandise from a Paradise Road shop. Two of the females were issued summonses and told not to trespass at the store.
Friday
Illario H. Peppe, 24, of 9 Priscilla Road, Swampscott was arrested at his home at 6:03 p.m. after Detective James Schultz applied for a search warrant. Detectives from Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Drug Enforcement Agency, state police, Lynn police and Swampscott police participated in the arrest. Peppe was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone. Officers seized 8 ounces of marijuana worth $3,000 and $800 in cash. Peppe may face additional charges.
Marblehead

Police and firefighters were called at 9:45 a.m. to the intersections of Tedesco Road and Humphrey and Maple street on a report of a struck gas line. Several houses in the area were evacuated for about one hour. National Grid grid was contacted and shut off the gas line. No injuries were reported.
The Board of Health ordered at 5:38 p.m. certain public waterways closed because of high bacteria levels: Village Street Pier, Stramskis Beach, Grace Oliver Beach, the swim area at Crocker Park and Gashouse Beach. Further testing was expected yesterday with results available today. The order was issued by Director of Public Health Wayne O. Attridge.
Maura A. Power, 54, of 37 Pleasant St., Marblehead, was arrested at 9:34 p.m. after a brief pursuit ending on Atlantic Avenue and charged with drunken driving first offense, negligent operation and marked lanes violation.
Middleton
Police responded to an accident between a motorcycle and a car at 197 N. Main St. at 12:27 p.m. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Beverly Hospital. Police said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. No citations were issued.
Peabody

Raymond Rogalski, 18, of 4 Gary Ave., Beverly, was arrested at the Nordstrom at the Northshore Mall at 4:06 p.m. and charged with shoplifting by concealment, three counts of receiving stolen property less than $250, possession of a Class E drug and two counts of malicious destruction of property less than $250.
Claudette C. Bovell, 47, of 21 Burrell St., Dorchester, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. at the Northshore Mall and charged with shoplifting by concealment and receiving stolen property over $250.
Erik M. Newton, 41, of 16 County St., Peabody, will be summonsed on charges of improper storage of a large-capacity firearm near a minor, improper storage of a large capacity firearm and improper storage of a firearm. Police were called to his home at 6 p.m.
Augusto Robles, 38, of 7 Barrett Court, Apt. 2, Lynn, was arrested at 7:31 p.m. after a motor vehicle stop at 10 Newbury St. and charged with driving with a suspended license. Aracely Rodriguez, 27, of 48 Ingalls St., Lynn, will be summonsed for lack of an inspection sticker and allowing an unlicensed person to drive her car.

Richard T. Williams, 49, Of 279 Andover St., Danvers, was arrested at 1:33 a.m. after a motor vehicle stop at 175 Andover St. and charged with driving with a suspended license and a warrant out of another department.
Police received a report of graffiti to a Connolly Terrace mailbox at 1:47 a.m.
Police received a report at 2:04 a.m. of graffiti to the front of the building of Turkish Towel at 34 Railroad Ave.
Police received a report at 3:28 a.m. of graffiti at MacArthur Park. A third-base bench and the trailer were spray painted in blue.
Police were called at 9:18 a.m. to investigate a cut gas line to the car of a customer of Inline Auto Body on Foster Street.
Alonzo Tobin, 35, Of 19 Goldberg Road, Peabody, will be summonsed on charges of domestic assault and battery after police were called to his residence at 10:53 a.m.
A Bragg Street resident called police at 1:07 p.m. to report eggs and apples had been thrown at the house sometime overnight.
A Wilson Terrace resident called police at 1:48 p.m. to tell police he "thought" someone had broken into his car and placed two empty beer cans inside. The car owner believed he knew the individual.
