After warning, woman facing prostitution charge

BEVERLY — A woman who was given a warning last month by Peabody police to stop advertising erotic massages and other sexual services allegedly packed up and moved a couple of towns over, to Beverly, where she is now facing a prostitution charge.

Kellie Zukowski, 33 (who is three years older than her ads claimed), pleaded not guilty last week to a charge of sexual conduct for a fee, following her arrest in a police sting.

Police from four area departments began investigating Zukowski after Beverly detectives got a tip that a woman living on the second floor of 16 Elliot St. was advertising on a site called Backpage.com, according to a Beverly police report.

The ad, with the heading "Want to have fun? Don't miss out," described Zukowksi as "a true companion. I value our time together."

The value of that time, according to the police report, was $150 for a half-hour and $200 for a full hour, including a massage and a specific sexual act.

The ad goes on to describe Zukowski as having a "girl-next-door look."

A Peabody police detective who was shown the ad recognized Zukowski's photo. Police from Ipswich and Danvers were also involved in the investigation.

An undercover Danvers police detective posed as a customer and arranged to meet Zukowski after getting out of work on the evening of Thursday, April 14.

That detective, wearing a small transmitter for his own safety, showed up at Zukowski's apartment, where she greeted him dressed in lingerie and then locked the door behind him.

After the price was negotiated, other officers went to arrest Zukowksi, and had to break down the door to get inside.

Zukowski allegedly told the officers that she had been running ads for the past year on several sites.

She admitted moving after being confronted by Peabody police with her ads.

She also admitted that she had heroin in the apartment, according to police, who retrieved five small bags worth about $250, but did not charge her with possession.

Zukowski was released on her own recognizance following her arraignment, and is due back in court June 7.
