Mosquito spraying in Salem tomorrow

SALEM — Northeast Mosquito Control will spray for mosquitoes tomorrow night in a section of South Salem.

The spraying is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. along Lafayette and Linden streets and extend to the Marblehead line.

The agency decided to do the precautionary spraying after finding positive samples of West Nile virus in mosquitoes in recent days. Although state officials say there is no significant risk to humans or animals from the spraying, residents along the route are advised to stay indoors and keep pets inside.

Thursday is the rain date.
