Man found injured near train tracks in Beverly, halts MBTA service

BEVERLY — Police are investigating whether a man found injured near the rail depot on Park Street this evening was struck by a train.

Officers responded shortly after 9:30 p.m. The MBTA was alerted and trains in both directions briefly halted while emergency personnel attended to the man, according to radio reports.

An officer said the man survived the incident and that he was transported to a hospital via ambulance.
