Salem church hosts Thanksgiving Mass

SALEM — St. James Church is hosting a Thanksgiving Mass for the city’s Catholic community.

“Before the turkey, the parade, the game, the guests, the traffic, the shopping ... let’s gather and give thanks for all we have been given,” the Rev. John Sheridan said in a statement.

The Mass is Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. James Church on Federal Street. A reception will follow.

Those who attend are invited to bring food to be blessed and a donation for Lifebridge, which operates the city’s homeless shelter.
