---- — BEVERLY — The city clerk’s office is reminding anyone who has received a “drop notice” in the mail to sign the notice and return it to City Hall as soon as possible.
The city has sent drop notices to residents who failed to return the annual city census by the June 1 deadline.
The notice, which is required by law, informs people that they will be dropped from the voting list unless they sign and return it to let the city clerk’s office know that they still live at their residence.
Residents risk not being able to vote in this fall’s elections if they do not return the notice. The city preliminary election is Sept. 24, and the final election is Nov. 5.
