Driver briefly trapped after rollover

PEABODY — A woman was briefly trapped in her vehicle after it rolled onto its roof on Webster Street yesterday.

The incident happened near a loading dock at the Building Supplies Outlet, at the corner of Upton and Webster Streets around 3:15 p.m.

It’s a tricky drive, if you’re unfamiliar with the area, firefighter Greg Jordan said.

“It was a misjudgment of driving,” Jordan said. “(She) hit a raised wall, got stuck for a second and rolled right over.”

Firefighters were able to free the female driver within 15 or 20 minutes, he said. She was taken to Salem Hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

Jordan said the accident was not caused by a medical problem or impairment from alcohol and the driver was wearing a seat belt. There was only one person in the vehicle at the time of the rollover.
