Boat falls off trailer, hits parked car

BEVERLY — A 20-foot-long motorboat fell off its trailer and hit a parked car on Cabot Street yesterday around 10:40 a.m.

Debra Cucinelli of Beverly, who was driving the Toyota 4Runner SUV that was towing the Chaparral boat, said something on the trailer "snapped."

"The boat fell off the trailer and hit the car," she said.

The parked car received extensive damage, according to police, including a smashed rear passenger window and a flat tire.

Cucinelli was not cited in the accident. According to police, the trailer had been inspected and repaired in July. Police said there were no injuries. The boat and trailer were towed by Cross Towing.
