---- — BEVERLY — Police say a masked man showed a knife with a foot-long blade during a hold-up at the Rite Aid on Cabot Street this evening.

No injuries were reported.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. at the 377 Cabot St. store. The suspect was described as being a white male with a slender build, about 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-9, with a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark navy jeans jeans and a white ski mask, Officer Dave Costa said in an email about the incident.

"Male walked in, did a quick walk through the store, then walked behind the front counter and demanded that the clerk open the registers and give him the money," Costa said. "The clerk gave him money from two registers, estimated to be about $538."

Then the robber said, "Have a nice night, ma'am," and took off, Costa said.

Radio reports indicated the suspect might have fled in the direction of Pickett Street.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate him.
