Track down Santa's helpers

Whether you’ve been bad or good, one of Santa’s helpers is coming to your neighborhood. On land and by sea, here’s the schedule of where they will be:

Santa Claus will arrive atop the Hawthorne Hotel roof and descend with the help of the Salem Fire Department. He’ll head to the Salem Common for a tree lighting and carols and then proceed to the Museum Place Mall where he’ll pose for pictures with children.

When: Friday, Dec. 6, 6 p.m.

Where: 18 Washington Square W.

Admission: Free

With his busy travel schedule, Santa will have worked up an appetite. He’ll be at the Hawthorne Hotel to hear children’s holiday wishes and spread holiday cheer.

When: Sunday, Dec. 15, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Nathaniel’s & Sophia’s, 18 Washington Square W.

Admission: $28.95 adults, $14.95 children. Reservations strongly recommended at 978-825-4311.

The Farms-Prides Community Association will host Santa at the traditional Community Christmas Tree Lighting & Holiday Party, where there will be activities for children, including seasonal crafts, letters to Santa and photo opportunities with a jolly elf. Enjoy a tractor-drawn hayride, holiday refreshments for all ages and the lighting of the tree, which will remain lit all season long.

When: Sunday, Dec. 8, 2 to 5 p.m.

Where: Hastings House, 14 Oak St.

Admission: Free for FPCA members, $5 nonmembers

Santa Claus is packing his lobster boat, checking his charts and heading for the site of Washington’s Naval Base. Thanks to the Beverly Lobster Fleet and the Beverly Harbormaster Department, the sea-borne Santa will arrive aboard the Janie M., captained by Michael Malewicki, at the Ferryway Public Landing, where he’ll greet boys and girls and hand out candy canes and hot chocolate. Most importantly, this Santa helper will be taking children’s last-minute requests for the holiday.
