Police conducted a traffic stop on High Street about 11:45 p.m. and subsequently arrested Michael Mulligan, 41, of 164 North St., Salem, on a charge of drunken driving and a marked lanes violation.
Police and the Fire Department responded to a report of a rollover accident with entrapment on Route 114 about 6:45 p.m., but determined the man operating the vehicle had been able to extricate himself. He was subsequently arrested on a charge of drunken driving and transported to a hospital with minor injuries, an officer said. There were no other injuries. No further information was available last night.
A 2:15 p.m. report of shoplifting at H & M at Northshore Mall resulted in the arrest of Syisha Garci, 23, of 2 Museum Square, Apt. 410, Lawrence, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise, third offense. She was also wanted on a warrant, according to the log.
Police received a 2:19 p.m. report of an “internal theft” of $3,000 in merchandise at Nordstrom at Northshore Mall and planned to summons a 23-year-old Peabody man on a charge of larceny over $250 in connection to the incident.
Police responded to a 3:44 p.m. report that an Upham Street man had made threats to kill himself and determined that he was “upset with the IRS” but “not suicidal.”
A man at the Charles Motel on Mill Street reported at 7:58 p.m. that a drunken woman had entered his apartment, and “he did not know who she was.”
A woman with a “Hispanic accent” called the police station “yelling and rambling incoherently into the phone,” according to a 3:42 a.m. log item.
